Yoo Seung Jun's History
From Yesasia.com's Artist of the Week 9/19/00
Ever since he was 6 years old, Yoo Seung Jun dreamed
of being a famous singer. He would dance to Michael
Jackson music and imagine himself a big star.
He moved to America with his parents and younger
brother when he was 13. He and his family live in
Buena Park, California.
Having never let go of his childhood dreams, 20-year-old
Yoo Seung Jun worked hard to get his name, talents,
and face known. He made a demo tape of his many skills:
rapping, dancing, swimming, playing tennis, roller
blading, playing basketball, body building, and Tae
Kwon Do. He then sent the tape to as many agencies
as he could. No responses came for a long time, but
he never quite gave up hope. Finally, he received
a reply from a man in Korea who sensed Yoo Seung Jun's
huge potential. Seung Jun was asked to return to Korea
for a singing career launch—a proposition he
wholeheartedly embraced. He left America to become
the star he'd always wanted to be.
His debut album and hit song, "Gawi" and
a music video for the tune "I love you, Nuna"
were subsequently released.
In the summer of '98 he released his second album,
V2 for Sale and a hit single ("Na Na Na")
along with another chart-popping music video.
Fans enjoyed a huge event in '98 as well—the
amazing "Na Nyung Gasoo Concert" and the
equally jam-packed "1998 Concert in Seoul."
Seung Jun had hit the big time with terrific speed.
He followed up his first two releases with album
number 2 ?(a massive live album showcasing all of
his big hits): Yoo Seung Jun's 1998 Concert in Seoul-live
album-double CD.
His many accomplishments also include an appearance
on Music Bank, Inki Gayo, and other Korean entertainment
shows, as well as a music video for "Boo Tahk
Hae" which was the collaborative work of he and
Chinese pop star Yuki Hsu. He's mixed songs for movie
soundtracks (like "Revolution" for the film
Yong Ga Ri) and his album releases are international
(with special albums done in America!).
He has a true passion for dancing, and he is popular
for his good looking, a great sense of humor, and
most importantly humbleness. He always does his best
whenever he performs on the stage.
Yoo Seung Jun's music has gone so mainstream, you
can easily hear his songs on the busiest streets,
clubs, stores, and cafes in Korea.
Korean provocative singer Ha Ri Su is set to release
her torrid album "Foxy lady"!
This 16-track album contains funky to hip hop sounds
and was mastered at Future Disc System Studio where
American pop diva Britney Spears used for her album.
Together with the sexually arousing lyrics of the
songs, this third album of the singer further conveys
her well-known sexy image.
