Chapter 1~

   “GG Hong!”

   I turned around and saw my three best friends running my way: Sarah, Gina, and Dain.

   “School’s out baby!” I yelled once they reached me.

   Today was the last day of school in Goomi Middle School. The whole day I had to listen to teacher’ lectures about how a high school is a big step. At least that’s over and summer is finally here!

   “I know! Hot summer and hot guys are waiting for me!” Dain, the boy crazy girl said. Her long black hair swooshed in the June breeze.

   “Woot woot! Summer time has just begun!” Gina yelled.

   “AHHHHHHH!” Sarah screamed. Everyone stopped celebrating and stared at Sarah.

   “What?” She asked, “I’m just celebrating summer my own way!”

   “Haha…okay” I said. We started walking again.

   “Let’s go get some ttuck bok gi to celebrate summer!” Gina suggested.

   “This celebration is going to last like, a week.” I said as I thought about how fun this summer was going to be.

   “I know!” Sarah said excitedly.

   “Let’s go get food! I’ll pay this time!” Dain said. Dain? Paying?

   “What if you run off like last time? Show us the money. Wait…Never mind, I’ll just hold on to your wallet ‘till the payment in done.” Gina said, digging through Dain’s purse. She pulled Dain’s wallet out and stuffed it in her back pocket. Dain frowned at us and we smiled back.

   We walked into the ttuck bok gi house and sat at a table.

   “Excuse me? Can we get 2 plates of la bok gi, 2 plates of cheese ttuck bok gi, 4 rows of kim bab, 4 servings of don ka suh, and 4 cups of cola, please?” Gina said, jumping up and down in her seat. Dain glared at Gina.

   “I will get you back” Dain whispered. Gina didn't hear her.

   “Can you please say that again?” The lady asked Gina. Gina repeated our order.

   “Okay, thank you” The lady said. She turned around, sighed, and went to the chef and handed him the piece of paper. After about 10 minutes of waiting, which felt like an hour, our food came out.

   “Yay! Time to feast~!” Sarah said as she stabbed a ttuck bok gi with her fork. We quickly finished it and went to the counter to pay.

   “I did the calculation, it’s $14! I’m so smart. Please call me the walking calculator. Yeah, that’s right. Thank you,” Gina said.

   “Oooo! You did some calculating, I see. Impressive.” Sarah said. She placed her index finger on her chin and nodded. Gina smiled proudly.

   “That would be $34, please” The lady at the counter said. We all turned to stare at Gina.

   “You’re such an idiot! $14? That’s not even close to $34!” Dain said. She turned around. “I wish it was really $14…” She mumbled. I was the only one that heard her.

   “Okay, pay!” I urged, “I want to go to the mall. Our celebration is not over yet!”

   Gina pulled the wallet out and took $44 out.

   “The other $10 is tip. Have a great day!” Gina said, running outside.

   “Please come again!” The counter lady yelled. We ran to the mall, and quickly walked inside, away from the hot sun.

   “Gina! I still can’t believe you gave $10 tip. $10!” Dain yelled at Gina once again. Gina just smiled. “You fricking idiot!” She yelled.

   “So…where are we going?” Sarah asked, trying to break the tension between them.

   “The 5th floor!” I yelled.

   “The GAME ROOM!” They yelled back in unison.

   “Let’s go” I said. We went up on 5 sets of escalators.

   “Let’s go play DDR!” Sarah shouted, running to the DDR machines.

   “I’m going to play with you!” Dain yelled, running after Sarah.

   “Let’s take a sticker photo!” I said to Gina once they were gone.

   “Yay! Okay!” Gina agreed. We took 3 sheets. One and a half for Gina and the other one and a half for me. We showed them to Sarah and Dain.

   “I want one too!” Dain said. Sarah nodded.

   “Let’s take more!” Gina said, obviously enjoying all the pictures. We took 5 more sheets.

   “I’m hungry” Dain said suddenly.

   “Me too” I said, feeling the emptiness of my stomach which was killing me.

   “Let’s go get more food!” Sarah said. Gina jumped up and down.

   We went on another set of escalators and reached the 5th floor, the fast food restaurants. We walked into McDonalds.

   “I want fries! With a Big Mac!” Dain yelled.

   “Order 4 large fries, 4 Big Macs, and 4 Pepsi’s!” Gina yelled after talking about what we wanted. After 4 minutes or so, Dain walked to our table with our tray full of food. We started eating again.

   “Let’s play chug it!” Sarah suggested after a while of eating.

   “Okay! Loser gets truth of dare!” Dain said, clapping her hands together.

   “I’m playing” I said.

   “Me too!” Gina said. We refilled our drinks.

   “Okay. One, two, three!” We chanted together. We gulped down our drinks in hurry. The loser was…ME!!!

   “Truth or dare?” Dain asked.

   “Dare!” I said. I always choose dare.

   “Okay, let us discuss your dare.” Dain said. Dain, Gina and Sarah made a tight circle. They started to whisper and look up about 5~6 times.

   “We got it!” Gina yelled, breaking the circle.

   “We dare you to go up to one of those guys over there,” Dain said, pointing at a group of hot guys, “and ask them their phone number.”

   “Wait, get one for me too. That guy with a cute smile” Gina said, pointing at a super cute guy.

   “Okay” I said.

   “No! I want some too! Give me one from that guy with blonde hair-,” Dain started blabbing but I cut her off.

   “Let’s just go all together.” I said.

   “Okay!” They agreed.

   We walked up to the guys.

   “Hey” I said to them. They stopped talking and looked up.

   “Hey” A hot guy with an amazing cheek bone showing smile said. That started the introducing. We introduced ourselves and they did too.

   “Sit down” Said a guy name Heechul, tugging at Dain’s sleeve.

   “Yeah, sit.” A really cute guy named Eeteuk said. He’s the guy that Gina called, the guy with the cute smile. They started to move down. When 4 seats were open, we sat down. All of us started to talk and got to learn more about each other.

   Eeteuk is an adorable guy with a really cute smile. He loves to play the piano and enjoys writing songs. I hope he’ll write one for me…hehe.

   Ryeowook is a sweet guy with a killer smile that reveals his cheek bones. He’s really shy and is seriously my type of a guy. He’s a piano player too, like Eeteuk.

   Kangin is a strong looking guy that enjoys boxing. Boxing?! That’s a scary sport….wait, is it a sport? Whatever, he's still hot.

   Sungmin is an adorable, polite guy. I think he’s a mama’s boy! He loves to act. He says he’s going to join theater next year in high school.

   Eunhyuk is a cool guy that can dance really well. He showed us some moves and it was astonishing. He’s a music lover like Dain.

   Heechul is the guy with blonde hair. He’s the weird/strange/crazy guy of the group. He’s really funny in ways. Surprisingly enough, he likes to write poems.

   After about 30 minutes of talking, we decided to go watch a movie.

   “Let’s watch that monkey movie!” Sarah said as we walked into the movie theater.

   “Oh…you mean King Kong? I heard it was good. I wanted to watch that!” Sungmin said as he smiled at Sarah. I noticed her cheeks turn red.

   “No, no. I want to watch that! The scary movie.” Gina said, pointing at a scary movie poster that was seriously bloody.

   “I’ll watch that with you, Gina” Eeteuk said, his dimples showing as he smiled. He grabbed Gina’s hand and they ran to the ticket booth.

   “NO! Comedy movies are the best!” Dain said, jumping up and down.

   “I know. Let’s go watch one!” Heechul said.

   “Me too, I want to watch something funny.” Eunhyuk said, staring at Dain.

   “What do you guys want to watch?” I asked Ryeowook and Kangin. Sarah and Sungmin were nowhere to be seen. They probably already bought their tickets and food and are sitting in their seats.

   “Let’s watch Exorcism of Emily Rose” Kangin said, ”That movie looks fun”

   “Isn’t that a scary movie?” I asked. I HATE scary movies!

   “Why? Are you scared?” Kangin asked as he smiled slyly. “Don’t worry! You’ll be fine.” He walked to the ticket booth.

   “It’s okay, I’ll hold your hand throughout the whole movie!” Ryeowook said, smiling again. I laughed.

   “Okay, fine…” I said. Ryeowook grabbed my hand.

   “Nah, I want to hold your hand starting now” Ryeowook said. I was surprised but he made me feel…comfortable. I smiled at him.

   “Okay Ryeowook and GG. I paid for the tickets so you two pay for the popcorn and drinks!” Kangin said. He handed us the movie tickets.

   “All right, I’ll pay for the popcorns. Ryeowook, you pay for the drinks.” I said. Ryeowook shook his head.

   “I’ll pay for both. Don’t worry!” Ryeowook said, running to the refreshments counter.

   “Wait…” I started but he was already gone in to the crowd.

   “Don’t worry. He’s a nice guy.” Kangin said. I nodded.

   “Yeah…he is.” I said. We stood there silently, waiting for Ryeowook to come back.

   He’s a really nice guy.

Chapter 2~

Ryeowook ran back holding 3 drinks and 3 popcorn tubs.

“Here, these are yours” Ryeowook said, handing me a drink and a popcorn tub. “And these are yours.” Ryeowook said to Kangin, handing him the food.

“Thanks” Kangin and I said to Ryeowook.

“No problem. Let’s go watch the movie!” Ryeowook said, grabbing my hand once again.

We walked into theater 4 and sat down.

(BLAH BLAH BLAH the movie starts and ends)

The movie was really scary but with Ryeowook by my side and his soft hand holding mine, I was fine.

We walked out the theater into the lobby. Kangin was talking about some scary parts of the movie. Ryeowook was still holding my hand.

“Hey guys!” I heard Gina yell. We turned around and saw Sarah, Sungmin, Gina, Eeteuk, Dain, Eunhyuk, and Heechul. Us three walked over.

“How was the movie?” Sarah asked.

“SCARY. But I’m okay” I said. I smiled at Ryeowook and he smiled back.

“Okay, what’s going on here?” Gina asked.

“What?” I asked, puzzled.

“You two are holding hands” Gina said, matter-of-factly.

I looked down at my hand and saw that Ryeowook and I were still holding hands. Shocked, we let go of each others hands.

“That was because-“Ryeowook started to say the reason but Sarah cut in.

“No excuses! If you guys like each other, why not go out?” Sarah said.

“No…we’re just friends, right Ryeowook?” Ryeowook nodded.

(I’m on the phone with Dain a week after the last day of school)

“Heechul or Eunhyuk?” Dain asked over the phone.

“I don’t know….” I said, not really paying attention to Dain and her love life. I was thinking about Ryeowook. Was it a good idea that I said he was only a friend? Do I think of him as a friend who should mean more?

“Heechul is so cute…plus hot!” Dain said.

“Do I like Ryeowook?” I asked myself out of nowhere.

“Ryeowook? You like Ryeowook?!” Dain screeched. I woke up from my dreamy/thinking mood.

“Me? Ryeowook?” I asked.

“You said….GG! Were you even listening to me?!” Dain asked. I shrugged as if Dan was right next to me

“Ryeowook is so sweet to me….” I said.

“He is nice. But shouldn’t you get to know him better? Before you guys go out or whatever?” Dain asked.

“I’m not sure. I guess so” I said. Does Ryeowook even like me?

“Okay. So back to the subject of Heechul and Eunhyuk. Who do you think is hotter?” Dain asked.

“Hey Dain, I have to go. I’ll call you back later, k?” I said.

Fine! Just leave me!” Dain said in a hurt voice.

“Sorry! Bye!” I said. I closed my cell phone.

After a while of thinking what to do, I decided to go to the park.

“GG!” I heard someone yell. I looked up.

“Sungmin?” I asked in shock. Where did he come from?

“Hey! Do you live in this neighborhood too?” Sungmin asked. I nodded.

“Do you?” I asked.

“Yeah. That’s cool!” Sungmin said happily. I smiled.

“Where are you going?” I asked.

“I don’t know. I just didn’t want to stay home on a great day like this so I just walked out of my house. Mind if I follow you to where ever you’re going?” Sungmin asked.

“No, I don’t mind. I’m going to the park by the way” I said. Sungmin nodded. After a silent walk, we reached the park. We sat down under a tall tree, on a white bench.

“Do you know what sucks?” I asked Sungmin.

“What?” He asked.

“When you want to know someone’s feelings but you can’t because...the reason why you want to know their feelings is a reason you can’t tell.” I said.

“I know how you feel” Sungmin said after a quiet moment.

“You do?” I asked in disbelief. He’s always so happy looking that I never guessed he would feel like me.

“Yeah. It’s…Sarah” Sungmin said.

“Sarah?” What happened?” I asked, once again in disbelief.

“Well,” Sungmin started, “I really, really--”

“Hey guys!” I heard Sarah yell. Sarah? Sungmin and I turned around and saw Sarah standing near by. She ran over.

“Sarah? What are you doing here?” I asked.

“I do come to this park often. And I live near by!” Sarah said. (We live in the say neighborhood) She sat down next to us.

“Hey Sarah” Sungmin said.

“Hey Sungmin! Do you live close? Or…is there something going on between you two?’ Sarah asked teasingly.

“Nothing’s “going on” between us. So did you hear anything from our conversation?” I asked. She shook her head.

“Nope, what were you guys talking about?” Sarah asked.

“NOTHING!” Sungmin and I said together.

“There’s something going on between you two. And I’m going to find out what” Sarah said with a suspicious look. “Well I got to go. Bye guys!” Sarah ran away towards the direction of her house.

“Ignore her…she can be quite weird sometimes. So yeah? What did you want to tell me?” I asked.

“I want to know…how she feels about me.” He said, staring at Sarah who was now going out of sight.

Chapter 3~

“You like her?” I asked Sungmin. He nodded.

“I did ever since I saw her. She’s so nice and great.” Sungmin said.

“Don’t worry, I’ll try to help out in every possible way!” I said.

“Thanks” Sungmin said as he smiled. I smiled back.

But how am I going to help him out?

Gina’s P.O.V:

Ever since Eeteuk and I met, we continued hanging out. He’s so cute! I love the way he smiles at me so often. Today, we decided to go to LOTTE WORLD~!

“Gina!” I heard Eeteuk yell. I turned around and saw Eeteuk standing by the clock tower.

“Hey Eeteuk!” I said, waving my hand. I ran over to him.

“Hey Gina! What ride do you want to go on?” Eeteuk asked. I shrugged.

“I don’t know. What about you?” I asked.

“ATLANTIS ADVENTURE!” Eeteuk said happily.

“Okay! Let’s go!” I said. We held hands and ran to the Atlantis Adventure ride. After waiting an hour or so, which felt like hours, we were boarding the ride.

After going through all the splashing and down hills, the ride was over.

“That was so much fun!” I exclaimed, stepping out of the ride.

“Better than last time I rode it...probably because I rode it with you.” Eeteuk said, smiling at me. I started to blush.

“I really enjoyed it too.” I said. Eeteuk put his arm around my shoulders. I looked up at him, smiling and was shocked…because he kissed my cheek!

“Let’s go to the haunted house!” Eeteuk said, pulling my hand towards a scary broken-up looking castle house thing. After waiting another long time in the line, we walked into the house.

“Are you sure I’m going to be okay?” I asked in a quiet whisper.

“Yup! I came in here before. It’s not scary! I promise!” Eeteuk said. He pulled me to his side.

After lots of screaming and freaking out, we reached the end of the Haunted House.

“See? I told you it was going to be fine!” Eeteuk said as we stepped out. I shook my head.

“NO! That…All the…The…” I said, more scared than ever.

“Oh! You were scared? I thought you were having fun! I’m sorry!” Eeteuk said. his smile faded and was now replaced with a sad face.

“I’m…I’m okay” I said, I pointed at a weird, tall looking structure. “Let’s go ride that thing!”

“The Gyro Drop?” Eeteuk asked, looking up at the tall ride, He squinted in the sun light.

“Do you just…fall?” I asked in shock. Eeteuk nodded excitedly.

“Yup! It’s like 70 meter drop in 2 seconds! It’s really fun. Let’s go ride it!” Eeteuk said, pulling my hand again.

“Are you sure it’s not that scary?” I asked, standing still in the middle of the street. Eeteuk smiled.

“I’m sure. Don’t worry! It’s going to be something you will NEVER forget in your life!” He said, pulling my hand to the ride. The closer I got to the ride, the scarier it looked.

“No…I don’t want to ride it” I said after a long time of thinking. We were standing right in front of the line.

“Come on, Gina! Please?” Eeteuk said with a puppy face. After a second, I gave up.

“Fine…let’s go” I said. Eeteuk grinned and held my hand. Once again we had to wait in the long line.

I don’t mind too much about the long line or the scary rides. As long as I’m with Eeteuk, I feel safe and happy.

Back to GG’s P.O.V:

It was a hot after noon. I was lying down on my bed and was thinking hard.

Poor Sungmin. What do I do? I have to help him some how! Force them on a date? Lock them into a room? AHH I DON’T KNOW!

*DI DI DI DI DINNNNNNNG* (Weird ringtone)

I sat up in my bed and reached for my phone. I checked the caller ID: Sarah. I opened my cell phone.

“Hey Sarah” I said.

“Hey GG! Do you want to go to the orphanage?” Sarah asked in thrill.

“The orphanage? Why?” I asked in surprise.

“To help the cute little kids at the orphanage of course!” Sarah said.

“Okay, sure” I said. Why not? I’m bored anyways.

“YAY~! Sungmin’s coming too!” Sarah said. Sungmin?

“Wait…I forgot! I have something really important to do today. Go help the orphanage kids with Sungmin, k? BYE!~” I said and shut my cell phone.

I hope Sarah and Sungmin work it out!!

Chapter 4~

After dinner, I plopped down on the couch to watch TV. I was watching MNet channel, SS501 performing when my cell phone rang.

“Hello?” I said.

“Hey GG. It’s Sungmin” Sungmin said in a tired voice.

“SUNGMIN! What happened?! Are you guys going out yet?” I asked anxiously.

“No…but wow. I got to learn a lot more about Sarah.” Sungmin said, still tired.

“Really? That’s great!” I said happily.

“The whole time we were there, Sarah ATE! And played with TOYS!” Sungmin said, emphasizing the words “ate” and “toys”.

“OMG! I’m sorry…I know she’s immature. So…you don’t really like her anymore?’ I asked worriedly.

“Why would I NOT like her She’s cute!” Sungmin said, totally changing his tone of voice.

“Awww! Okay, I hope you two work it out!”

“Okay. Bye GG! Thanks!”

“Bye Sungmin!” I said and we hung up.

I continued watching TV when my phone rang again.

“Hello?” I said.

“GG!” Sarah yelled.

“What do you want?”

“OMG! The orphanage! The food I was cooking for the kids were so yummy, I joined the kids!”

“So that’s what Sungmin was talking about” I mumbled to myself.

“What? What about Sungmin?” Sarah questioned.

“Oh NOTHING!” I said in surprise.

“Okay. And the TOYS! Wow, they’re lucky! I’m planning to go again next week!” Sarah yelled into the phone.

“Okay Sarah, go have fun with Sungmin!’ I said, very proud of myself.

“No, no, you’re coming next week!” Sarah said in an assuring voice.

“No! You and Sungmin go.” I insisted.

“And you! Seriously, you have to come. You’ll see what I’m talking about!” Sarah said, trying to persuade me.

“NO! I SAID NO! YOU AND SUNGMIN WILL GO, AND I’M NOT!” I exploded.

“Gosh GG, you don’t have to yell! Okay, I’ll go with Sungmin. Bye!” Sarah finally said. I breathed a sigh of relief.

“Okay, Bye Sarah!” I said.

I helped out Sungmin’s love life, but what about mine?

Finally! The 3rd week of Summer Vacation. The week I was waiting for!

Today, Dain, Gina, Sarah, and I are going on a trip to Busan! Filthy rich Dain who lives in a mansion and has her own chauffer offered to pay for the whole trip. When it comes to trips and vacations, she’ll do anything to bring everyone along. Her personal maid is coming to chaperone us.

I rang Dain’s doorbell at 10:10, 10 minutes later than the due time.

Mrs. Ahn, Dain’s personal maid opened the door.

“Oh hello, Miss Hong. Please come in. The girls and boys are in the family room, waiting for you” Mrs. Ahn said as she smiled. Wait, boys? What boys?

“Okay, thank you” I said. I walked in with my overly packed luggage. Mrs. Ahn helped me.

I opened the big wooden door to the family room. In the gigantic room, I saw all of the girls. And I saw the boys: Ryeowook, Kangin, Eeteuk, Sungmin, Heechul, and Eunhyuk. What are they doing here?

“Hey girls! And…guys! I’m sorry I’m late” I said. I sat down on the couch next to Ryeowook. Everyone greeted me.

“I know you’re wondering why the guys are here. You see, it’s a long~ story!” Dain said. She took a deep breath and was about to start her “long~ story” but I stopped her.

“No thanks, Dain. I’ll assume that they’re coming too” I said, looking at the guys’ luggage.

“Okay! Everyone’s here!!” Dain said, standing up with everyone else.

“Let’s go!” Gina yelled and everyone started cheering and getting their luggages.

“Mrs. Ahn? MRS. AHN!” Dain screamed. Mrs. Ahn ran in, holding Dain’s luggages.

“Yes Miss Choi? Are we ready to go?” Mrs. Ahn asked, breathing heavily. We nodded. Wow, I feel bad for this lady.

“Okay then, let’s go into the car.” Mrs. Ahn said, taking out car keys from her apron pocket. She took off her apron and threw it on to the couch. Everyone walked out to Dain’s 5 car garage.

“You have a limo?!” All the guys asked together. Their eyes and mouths were wide open.

“Yup! Come on!” Dain said. Us four, the girls were already in the limo. The guys hurried in.

“Alright, we’re leaving now!” Mrs. Ahn said, driving out of the garage, into the streets. Everyone cheered and high fived each other. The whole time to Busan, we watched the plasma TV in Dain’s limo. A PLASMA TV!

Finally we arrived at the 5 star hotel which is located right next to the beach. Everyone piled out with their luggages and gasped at the sparkling building.

“Hmm, worse than the other hotel I went to a week ago…Oh well. Let’s go you guys!” Dain said. She ran into the hotel and we followed.

We had roommates to share a huge room with. My roommate was Dain. YAY~! I get to use her stuff and “borrow” her clothes!

“Okay GG, you know the one thing that you are required to do when you’re using the same room as me. BE SILENT WHEN WE’RE SLEEPING” Dain said. I nodded. I was used to her strict rule of “silent when sleeping” from many sleepovers. We unpacked out stuff and met at the hotel lobby in summer clothes that covered our swimming suits.

When all 10 of us gathered, we ran out the hotel, through the parking lot, across the streets and into the sandy beach.

I immediately ran into the clear, sparkling water. Everyone else stayed out to smear sun block lotion on their skin.

“Come into the water! Screw the sun block!” I yelled, waving them to come in. They shook their heads. My God, what’s the big deal? I like my skin super tan.

I swam towards the deeper side without stopping. When I did stop, the water was up to my chin. Surprised, I tried to swim back but my legs felt paralyzed. The currents pushed me back towards the deeper side. I couldn’t feel the bottom of the ocean floor.

“HELP!” I yelled. Then, everything went black.

Chapter 5~

I opened my eyes.

“GG? Are you awake?” Everyone was hovering over me. I sat up and looked around. I was in my hotel room.

“What happened?” I asked.

“You drowned! OMG It was like…FREAKY!” Gina said with her eyes big.

“I…drowned?” I asked in confusion.

“Yeah. Okay, this is what happened: You started screaming help and Kangin jumped into the water to save you!” Gina said enthusiastically. I turned to Kangin and smiled. He smiled back.

“When he held you and brought you back to shore, you were unconscious. Kangin did CPR on you and you coughed out water. You started breathe again, thank God, but you stayed fainted. So Kangin put you on his back and brought you here!” Gina said. I was blushing really hard now.

“That’s so romantic~” Dain said, clapping her hands together. Gina nodded and clapped her hands with Dain.

Everyone laughed and Kangin and I blushed.

Ryeowook’s P.O.V:

I saw Kangin give CPR to her.

I saw her and Kangin smile at each other.

I saw her and Kangin blush together.

This hurts my heart too much. Maybe I should give up on her. Ever since I met her, I…felt something. Something that was tugging at my heart. Now I know I really like her. Maybe even love...but I guess I have to forget my dream of being with her.

And forget my happiness.

“Ryeowook? Are you okay?” GG asked. Everyone turned to stare.

“Me? I’m okay! I should be asking you that!” I smiled and tried to look happy. Not like how I really feel.

“Oh, I’m fine. Thanks” She fell back on the king size bed.

“I’ll take a nap. You guys can go back outside” Everyone nodded and silently walked out. I stayed seated next to GG’s bed. Since she was closing her eyes, she didn’t notice that I was still here. For about ten minutes, I sat there staring at her. She was completely asleep now.

“I really, really like you GG. Ever since you said hi to me. Too bad you like Kangin. Kangin is so much better than me. He’s better looking, stronger than me; he can make you happier that I possibly could. I love you. I always will” I said. I felt hot tears roll down my cheeks as I stood up and walked out of the room.

Back to GG’s P.O.V:

I sat up and cried silently. Ryeowook liked me the whole time…and I didn’t even notice. How did I not?

I should’ve told him that...that I like him too.

The vacation in Busan was great. Nothing happened between Ryeowook and me or Kangin. But I did see some flirtation going on between Sarah and Sungmin. Gina and Eeteuk too.

Only one week ‘till I go back to school…Well, I can’t wait! I’ll see my friends everyday, and meet new ones.

“Come in and eat, GG!” I heard my mom say. I walked in from the porch where I was thinking. Thinking about Ryeowook. Should I tell him that I like him too?

I sat down on the kitchen table chair and sighed.

My mom gave me a worried look and placed plate full of yummy food in front of me. I started to eat.

“Are you okay? You’ve been so down lately. Anything we should talk about? My mom asked, taking a seat across from me. I shook my head.

“Okay, if you need anyone to talk to, I’m always here.” She said, standing back up. I nodded and she walked back to the sink to do the dishes. When I was done with my breakfast, I walked up to my room. I switched on my computer and fell on my computer/study chair. I signed on to AIM. Right away, Dain IM’ed me.

GGzMAname: yeah? What’s up?
snowstar05: Eunhyuk and Heechul asked me out!!!!!
GGzMAname: SERIOUSLY?! WHEN?! HOW?!
snowstar05: at Busan. I never had the chance to tell you.
GGzMAname: OOOOO what are you going to do??
snowstar05: I dunno. You tell me.
GGzMAname: Hmmmm…who do you like more?
snowstar05: I dunno.
GGzMAname: Uhh….Tell me all the things you like about Heechul
snowstar05: Okay. He’s cute, nice, funny, weird, and hot
GGzMAname: Okay, now Eunhyuk.
snowstar05: ADORABLE, HOT, great dancer, awesome, friendly, caring, determined, always there for me…and more!
GGzMAname: wow Sarah…isn’t it obvious? You like Eunhyuk more!
snowstar05: huh? How come?
GGzMAname: you said way more things about Eunhyuk. It was nicer too.
snowstar05: REALLY? WOWWWWWW you’re smart….
GGzMAname: hehe…thxx
snowstar05: so I say yes to Eunhyuk?
GGzMAname: yeah…go call him!
snowstar05: okay! THX GG!!

I signed of and checked my email.

2 unread emails in inbox. One was from Sarah and the other was from Gina.

I read Sarah’s first and it said:

“OMG!
Sungmin is so cute!! Ever since I got to know him better at the orphanage (Haha), I started to like him. I don’t think he likes me though…*sniff* can you help me find out who he likes?”

Sarah likes Sungmin?! How come all these couples are forming and I’m not included in any of them?! I should tell her. Wait; no…it should be Sungmin that tell her.

I started writing a reply.

“Sure! No problem! Sungmin will be yours in no time!”

I clicked send and called Sungmin on my phone.

“Yeah GG?” I heard Sungmin say.

“Hey Sungmin! GUESS WHAT?!”

“What?” He asked curiously. I clicked on Gina’s email.

“Sarah likes you~!” I said and started to read the email. She was suggesting to go to the mall with the guys on Saturday, two days before school starts.

“REALLY?? Are you sure? Should I ask her out?” Sungmin asked after a moment of silence. I put Sungmin on speaker phone and placed my cell phone on my desk.

“Yeah, I’m sure. And YES, DO ask her out.” I said as I typed a reply back to Gina. Why should I NOT go to the mall?

“Okay, I really like her…I can’t believe she likes me! *blah blah blah blah blah*” Sungmin started talk high speed so I put my attention to the mail. I wrote in my email to Gina about Sungmin and Sarah.

“Okay Sungmin. I get the point you like her very much. So tell me…how are you going to ask her out?” I said as I continued to type my reply. Another moment silence followed.

“I…I don’t know” Sungmin stammered.

“You don’t?! Okay, ask me out as if I’m Sarah”

“WHAT?! Do I have to?”

“Yeah. If you want her to say yes. She doesn’t say yes unless under strict conditions”

“Okay okay” Sungmin said. Then, to my biggest surprise, Sarah ran into my room. How she got in: I have no clue.

“Hey GG~!” Sarah said happily. I was too shocked to do or say anything. Sungmin started talking.

“I just knew that you were the one when I saw you. The one that will always stay with me. The one that will make me happy. The one that will stick her hand out to pick me up when I’m down. The one that I will and do love. Will you go out with me?’ Sungmin said.

And Sarah heard it all.

Chapter 6~

I stood up and stood there frozen, not knowing what to do.

“So he liked you the whole time. I knew I never had a chance with him. Why even bother?” Tears poured down her face. She turned around and started to walk out of the room.

“Sarah! Wait!” I yelled as I grabbed her arm.

“Sarah?!” Sungmin asked in shock.

“You get to have everything! Great family, friends, looks…everything! Now you even have guys? Your friend’s first love? I have to get out of here” More tears ran down her face as she rushed out of my house. Shoot…What do I do now?

“GG!” I heard Sungmin say. I quickly ran to my desk and picked my phone up.

“What happened?” Sungmin said when I turned my speaker phone off.

“Well…” I hesitated.

“Tell me! I have to know!!” Sungmin asked desperately.

“She was in my room when you did the whole practicing thing. She thinks that you were asking ME out. *Sigh* I’m sorry. It’s my entire fault.” I said sadly.

“Don’t think that it’s your fault! I’ll talk to her” Sungmin said kindly.

“Okay. Wait! You can’t call her…She’s not going to pick up. She does that when she’s depressed” I nodded as I remembered the time when her dog died. She didn’t answer the phone or talked for a week. Her mom even took her to a therapist.

“Really? I have to find her. Any ideas where she might be?” I thought about the dog’s death situation again.

“The book store café!” I exclaimed.

“The book store café? You mean the one next to the flower shop?”

“Yup! You’ll find her there”

“Okay. Thanks!” He said and we said our good byes.

“I hope this time it will turn out better” I said.

Sarah’s P.O.V:

I ran to my favorite place in the whole world. The bookstore café.

I pushed the glass door open and walked to the table next to the huge window in the back. I still felt tears coming down my face. I shut my eyes.

“Okay, Sarah. Stay strong! Even though I’ll never be able to forget him. Or stop liking him. Or-“

“Back to you, Sarah” I heard Sungmin say.

“Oh great…I’m hearing things” I opened my eyes and saw Sungmin sitting right across from me, holding a bunch of roses.

“Now I’m seeing things? Sarah! Wake up!” I shut my eyes again. Then, I felt something touching my lips. I opened my eyes and saw Sungmin…Kissing me! I was so shocked I pulled away.

“Do you believe that I’m really here now? And that I really like you?” He asked with a smile. He handed me the roses.

“Sungmin! I thought you liked, I mean, LOVED GG. What happened?” I questioned. I smelled the roses and smiled at the lovely scent.

“You see…I was forced to practice asking you out in front of GG. I guess she put me on speaker phone and when I started, you heard me” He looked embarrassed so I smiled.

“I love you” He said.

“I love you too” I said back.

Dain’s P.O.V:

It’s Saturday! Two days before school begins. Better start enjoying my last two days!

I walked into the air conditioned mall. As I quickly walked through the crowd to Edy’s, I remembered.

I have to say no to Heechul. Great…

“Dain!” I heard someone yell. I reached Edy’s without even noticing.

I turned around and saw everyone else. I didn’t know I was late!

“Hey~!” I said as I sat down on the cushiony sofas. They greeted me. GG eyed Eunhyuk and smiled. I can do this! I can say no to Heechul!

“Let’s go get some ice cream!” I suggested, standing back up. Everyone walked over to Edy’s Unfortunately, I was last in line. The suggester should be first in line. What’s wrong with this scene?!

I finally opened my mouth to talk to order my ice cream.

“GG! I hope you like strawberries” Eunhyuk said. He held out a strawberry sundae. I walked away from the counter.

“Thanks Eunhyuk!” I received the sundae and carefully got a spoonful. I stuffed it into my mouth and smiled in satisfaction. YUM.

“Do you like it? Here’s a napkin” Eunhyuk held out a napkin. I nodded as I smiled and took it.

“So…can I ask you now? Who is it? Him or me?” I knew exactly who ‘him’ was—Heechul. After a moment of hesitation, I answered.

“You” I said.

“Really?! I thought you would like Heechul” Eunhyuk said with a delighted voice.

“You want me to?” I looked up and felt like I was going to cry.

“NO! I mean…usually girls like him more” He said. I sighed quietly.

“Well, then I’m not one of those girls” I scooped another spoon of sundae.

Back to GG’s P.O.V:

I got my ice cream cone and started to go back to the sofas. Then, I saw Dain and Eunhyuk. I stopped walking and stared at them. I leaned closer to hear their conversation.

“So…can I ask you now? Who is it? Him or me?” Eunhyuk said.

“You” Dain replied after a awkward looking silence.

“Really?! I thought you would like Heechul” Eunhyuk said with a delighted voice.

“You want me to?” Dain looked up and her eyes were all teary.

“NO! I mean…usually girls like him more” Eunhyuk said as he tried to comfort Dain.

“Well, then I’m not one of those girls” Dain said. They smiled at each other and started to walk back. I quickly turned around and bumped into Heechul.

“Heechul? Did you…Hear the conversation?” I asked nervously. He nodded and walked back with his shoulders and face down. I followed him to the sofas and sat down next to Ryeowook.

“Hey” He said. I smiled and waved back. Kangin stood up from his seat and walked over.

“GG, come with me. I have to tell you something” Kangin grabbed my hand and pulled my away from the group.

“GG! Kangin!” Sarah and Gina yelled. I looked back and tried to make Kangin let go but he was too strong. Everyone stared at us in shock.

We finally reached the benches outside but we stayed standing. I looked down.

“You don’t understand do you? That I really, seriously, like you. I know that you like Ryeowook….what can I do so that you’ll start liking me?” Kangin’s eyes were teary and I felt tears coming. I looked up and saw Kangin’s face just centimeters from mine.

I have to forget Ryeowook. He said that he’ll try to forget me too. It’s too late now…

“Nothing” I said. Kangin was confused at first, then smiled and hugged me.

This is the bets decision, GG.

Chapter 7~

*Beep beep*

“Shut up!” I yelled. What’s that annoying buzzer?!

*Beep beep*

“BEEP YOU!” I yelled again. Oh yeah…

TODAY’S THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!!

I sat up in my bed and turned the alarm off.

I ran to my closet and pulled my planned outfit out. As quickly as possible, I took a shower, brushed my teeth, and put my clothes on. The hair dryer and straightener finished my look. Oh, and some blush, mascara, eye liner, and concealer.

Since I was already close to late, I ran outside, skipping breakfast. Dain’s limo was waiting outside.

“GG! Over here!” Dain yelled. She was flailing her arms like a maniac out the window of her limo.

“Hey Dain! Sorry I’m late” I said as I climbed into to the car. “Hey Sarah! Hey Gina!”

“Hey GG!”

“Heyyy! OMG GG, do you want to her something awesomely awesome?!” Dain asked, her eyes sparkling. Maybe it’s her eye shadow.

“Yeah?” I asked, still examining her eye shadow. I wonder where she got them. Dain opened her mouth.

“Dain’s going out with Eunhyuk. Who cares. I’m going out with Eeteuk!” Gina said, her pony tail bobbing up and down as she jumped in her seat.

“Wait a minute….I care about me and Eunhyuk!” Dain said, her eyes now sharp but hurt. “And I wanted to say the surprise!”

“Congrats to you two!” I exclaimed.

“I guess I should confess too now” Sarah said nervously, “I’m going out with Sungmin”

“Really? YAY SARAH!” Gina said as she clapped her hands together.

“Congratulations Sarah!!” Dain said as she smiled.

“Congrats to you too, Sarah!” I said, feeling proud of myself.

“So what about you, GG? Who are you going out with?” Gina asked, nudging my arm with her elbow.

“I think it’s Ryeowook” Dain said as she placed her index finger on her chin. She nodded as if she could see Ryeowook sitting right by me.

“No…it’s Kangin” Sarah said. I flinched.

“Uh…I’m not going out with anyone” I lied. I felt bad but it wasn’t time yet.

“You’re not?” Dain, Sarah, and Gina asked together, their eyes big as golf balls.

Before I could answer (I didn’t even have an answer…Whew), we reached the school.

“Oh look. We’re at school! I’m off to find my locker and homeroom teacher!” I said, running out of the car and into the private school.

“Wait!!” They yelled. All three of them ran out of the car after me. I ran farther into the building.

“Locker 183. Okay” I said, breathing heavily. I finally found my locker and quickly opened it. Carefully, I organized my things and started decorating my locker with a pictures, mirror, and etc.

“GG?!” I heard a guy say. Really familiar guy’s voice too. I turned around.

“Kangin?!” I screamed at the sight of him, “What are you doing here?”

“I attend this private school…You go to this school too??” Kangin asked with a hint of hope in his voice.

“Yeah! OMG! I never knew we were going to the same high school!” I said happily. “The other three girls are after me. I don’t know where they are but they’re attending this school too”

“The other guys too! Wow…what a coincidence. Wait, why are the girls after you?” Kangin asked in confusion.

“Uh…about that…We’re going to have to keep that we’re going out a secret” I whispered in his ear.

“What? Why?” Kangin said in a quiet voice.

“Because…I told them, the girls that I don’t have a boyfriend. I’m so sorry…I wasn’t really ready yet” I said, embarrassed more than EVER. Kangin sighed but smiled.

“It’s okay. We can tell all the guys and girls later. Promise me we’ll tell them…later” Kangin said, holding out his pinky. I linked my pinky with his.

“Promise” I whispered.

“Kangin! Where were you?!” Ryeowook said suddenly, (where did he come from?) placing his hand on Kangin’s shoulder.

“Hey Ryeowook!” I exclaimed. I was happy to see him, even though I know that he doesn’t like me anymore…

“WHOA! GG!” Ryeowook said, his eyes big and wide.

“I know, I was surprised to see Kangin too. I come to this school!” I said, smiling.

“Really? Welcome!! My dad’s the principal of this school so I basically memorized the school map. I’ll show you around if you like” Ryeowook said, grabbing my hand. “LET’S GO!”

“Wait!” I said, “I have to get to class soon!”

Kangin just stood there, shocked to see Ryeowook holding my hand.

“Okay so this is the cafeteria” Ryeowook said when we reached a big cafeteria, filled with sunshine, shining through the big windows.

“It’s nice” I said, nodding my head.

“Yeah it is. Let’s eat there at lunch!” Ryeowook said pointing at a table that was directly hit by the sun. I nodded again.

“Cool” I said.

“Okay, next is the gym” Ryeowook said. We walked out of the cafeteria and turned right. The gym was right down the hall.

“Actually, there’s somewhere else I want you to see. Let’s go” Ryeowook said, dragging me again. We ran to off to the right, then left, right, and right again and reached a door that had an exit sign above it.

“Are we allowed to go outside?” I asked worriedly.

“It’s okay. Please? Can we go??” Ryeowook begged.

“Okay…If I’m not late to class”

Ryeowook smiled really big and pushed the door open with his right hand, his other hand still grabbing mine.

I walked out, following Ryeowook. The sun shone bright in my eyes. Then, I saw it: the garden.

“Wow…it’s so pretty” I said, amused by the beautiful garden. “I never knew there was a garden out here!”

“No there isn’t…I just made this one just for you” Ryeowook said, looking into my eyes. With the sun shining, he looked even cuter.

“What?” I asked, confused.

“This garden…It’s made just for you. Look” He said, pointing at something right behind me. I turned around.

From the second floor of the school, a sign rolled down and balloons from the downstairs windows were released. The sign read…

I love you?!

Chapter 8~ FINALE

“I love you?” I asked Ryeowook. I turned around to face him again.

“I love you” Ryeowook said slow and clear.

“Why now?! Why not before?!” I asked as tears welled up in my eyes.

“What?” Ryeowook asked, confused. He reached over and started to wipe my tears. i pushed his soft and warm hand away from my face.

“I don’t…I’m sorry” I said. I ran back inside.

“Wait!” He yelled. I ignored his fading voice and ran to my locker. I pulled my algebra stuff out. Fortunately, I still had about 5 minutes ‘till the first day of the year officially started. I started walking to my class when a strong hand grabbed my shoulder and roughly turned me around.

“Where were you?! What happened with Ryeowook?!” Kangin shouted. His hands were on my shoulders and his worried look took over his face.

“Not…Nothing. I’m sorry” I said. My red, puffy eyes started to form tears again. Kangin loosened the grip on my shoulder and pulled me towards him. His arms hugged me tight.

“Don’t be sorry….i was really worried. I’m sorry for misunderstanding” Kangin whispered into my ear. I hugged him back.

The day went by fast. Ryeowook and I didn’t talk to each other for the whole day. Kangin walked me home. Until 4 o’clock, I worked on my project. Yes, project, on the first day of school.

Around 4, when I was still researching for my project, my cell phone rang.

*RING*

“Hello?” I said, the phone held up by my shoulder.

“GG, come to Goomi Central Hospital. Room #201. Hurry” Gina’s voice came over the phone.

“What? Why?” I asked worriedly, but I got no reply. I stopped the reasearching and held the phone with my hands.

“GINA!” I yelled. I held the phone out in front of me and saw that Gina already hung up.

I should go. Definitely.

I ran out of my house hurriedly and left my mom a note, which she’ll get in an hour or so, when she comes back from work.

I dashed out to the streets and caught a taxi.

“Goomi Central Hospital, please” I said. The driver nodded.

When we arrived, I handed the driver $10 and rushed out of the car. I walked into the building and walked up to the info desk.

“Where’s room 201? I asked the information person.

“Over there to the right then left. It’s in that hallway. The right side” She said kindly, pointing at a busy hallway.

“Thanks” I rushed through the crowded hallways and finally found the room. Room 201. I pushed the door open. Everyone, the guys and the girl were inside. They were crowding around someone on the bed.

“What’s wrong?” I asked. Everyone looked aup and movd away from the bed. And sitting on the bed, there was…

“DAIN?!” I screamed. She was sitting upright, dressed in hospital clothes, and her eyes covered with a white bandage.

“GG? Is that you?” Dain asked. Moving her head around as if she could see.

“Yeah. It’s me. What happened?” I questioned. She shrugged.

“A car…hit me. My eyes…” Dain mumbled.

“Dain, we’ll give you time to rest. Can you guy come with me? I’ll explain” He said. I had no idea how he would explain this situation but we followed.

Heechul took us outside. Fresh air calmed my feelings down a bit.

“Okay. Here’s what happened” Heechul said. Everyone’s looks urged Heechul to go on.

“I…I loe Dain. I wanted her to be mine. But she was taken by someone much better than me. Even though I knew I never had a chance with her, I wanted to shower her my feelings. So I called her and told her to come to the park nearby. I decorated the place with lights to impress her, but I never got to. She was on the other side of the street and the green light finally flickered on. She was crossing the road and…and a car hit her” Heechul’s tears left faint traces down his face. “It’s all my fault”

“Don’t think that!” We said. We hugged him and tried to comfort him.

“Dain needs an eye donor…She’ll be fine in no time” Gina said, trying to cheer him up. We nodded and forced smiles onto our unhappy faces. All of us went back to Dain’s room.

She was asleep. Even though we couldn’t tell if her eyes were closed or not, wher breathing gave it away. One by one, we left the room.

Heechul’s POV:

“You’ll see again. I promise” I whispered. I held Dain’s hand in my hands carefully. “I promise”

*Knock knock*

I let go gently and quietly opened the door. A doctor and a nurse came in.

“Hello. Are you Dain’s brother?” The doctor asked. I shook my head.

“Dain’s dad, her only family is on a business trip to the U.S. He’s on his plane back to Korea.” I said quietly, trying hard to not awake Dain. Even though her hair was messy and she wasn’t wearing make-up, she looked beautiful.

“Oh I see. I just wanted to check on her. I’ll come back again later” The doctor said, starting to walk towards the door.

“Wait!” I yelled. The doctor and the nurse turned around.

“Start getting ready for an eye transplant” I demanded.

“Excuse me?”

“Star getting ready for an eye transplant! I’m giving my eyes to Dain” I said, tears rolling down my cheeks. For the last time.

Back to GG’s POV:

When I got out of the hospital, after my visit to now blind Dain, I walked to the nearest park. Kangin held my hand and followed.

We finally got to the park. I sat down on a bench under a big oak tree. We sat there, looking down onto the city. The park was higher in elevation than I thought…

The bright Goomi city lights shined bright. Suddenly, rain started to fall, making loud roaring noises.

“The sky is crying” I whispered.

“Do you know why?” Kangin asked. I shrugged.

“Maybe because…Everyone’s so sad. The sky is crying because so many people are unhappy” I said.

“And because someone prays that your depressed feelings will get washed away. Praying that your bad memories will be now left behind. And praying that the rain will refresh that your mind, that it will remind you who your true love is” Kangin said after a long pause. I gave him a confused look.

“I pray for those things, GG. I know you don’t truly love me. I know you love Ryeowook. Even though that’s true, I’ll always wait for you. Forever” He said.

“Kangin…” I whispered. The sky stopped crying and the dark clouds faded away, revealing a sunset that painted the sky red, orange, and pink.

It was beautiful.

The last day of school finally arrived. Time for a great summer with Ryeowook, my boyfriend and Kangin, my best friend.
