Shortie Entertainment are proud to launch
Acoustics @ Sound in association with Frivalous
Entertainment. Offering something different from
our regular nights, Acoustics is the first in what will
become a frequent showcase of the hottest up and
coming musical geniuses that the UK can offer.
For our first show we are proud to present no less
than four separate acts performing a wide range of
quality music.

International saxophonist Joe Leader will open up
the show with his funky, energetic 6-piece Jazz
Fusion band. As a Daily Telegraph Young Jazz
Award winner, Joe has been a featured artist at
such prestigious international events as the French
and South African National Jazz Festivals as well
as having worked with such musical legends as
Andrew Lloyd Webber. His new band featuring
some of the greatest international Jazz musicians
will open up Acoustics in true style!

Assaf Seewi, also known as The Amazing Assaf,
is a percussionist of incredible talent. Famed for
his spectacular performances, he has been known
to drum out a beat while juggling his drumsticks at
the same time, often accompanied by an MC.
With a wild reputation at live venues around the
capital, Assaf will entertain and astonish you with
an act that defies belief.

Pianist and vocalist Wayne Clarke will present a
set of songs that are all self- composed and
arranged. Potentially Britains answer to Brian
McKnight, he often moves listeners to tears with
his soulful voice and intense performances.

Buddha Sugar is led by Dwayne Wint, a vocalist
who has often been compared to Stevie Wonder.
Currently playing a lead role in the Covent Garden
musical Dancing in the Streets, Dwayne has
been chased by some of the biggest labels in the
world, but hes making an exclusive appearance at
Acoustics to present his latest band. Funky and
energetic, Buddha Sugar will keep you tapping
your feet for days to come.

Acoustics - The Mission

As you all known, Shortie Entertainment is fully
committed to giving oppurtunities for UK Orientals to
show their skills and talents to a wider audience.
Previously we have only been able to do this with DJ's
due to the nature of the community, but with Acoustics
we are taking a giant leap forward. Featuring
performances from the hottest up and coming talent in
the UK, it is an oppurtunity for those artists to get
their name and their talents into the public eye for
all to see. Not only are tickets on general sale, but
we will also have major players in the Oriental
Entertainment Industry such as TVB and Spectrum Radio
attending.

After the first Acoustics, we will be running
auditions for oriental singers, and one person will be
given the oppurtunity to perform at the next
Acoustics. They will be given the creative freedom to
perform any song they want, be it self written or a
cover song. We will offer them production, training
and studio time, with the end result being a demo cd,
and a chance for them to perform in public, at
Acoustics.

At Shortie Entertainment, we understand the
difficulties that an oriental singer can face when
trying to make more of their own talent. With
Acoustics, we are trying to make people realise their
own talents, and give them a platform to make that
step into the unknown that is the music industry.
After three years of hard work, we have cultivated the
resources to make our mission statement a reality, and
we hope that the oriental community is willing to
share that with us.
