[Tutorial] How to Use Clubbox

Okay, if you have stumbled upon this post then you are like me illiterate in HanGul/Korean. Nowadays, there's this popular Korean storage server, called Clubbox (http://www.clubbox.co.kr), that allows users to store at least 100 GB worth of files online for sharing.

Now, there has been several requests on asking How to Use Clubbox? So I'm here to help, although I lack proficiency myself, but I'll risk embarrassment to teach first time users how I get around this program. Anyone else out there who can do a better illustration than me are more than welcome to do so. And any information you can provide that I lacked upon is appreciated.

(STEP 4) IF YOU ARE STUCK ON THIS WINDOW (THE FIRST TIME USING IT) AND CAN'T SEE STEP 5 POPUP AUTOMATICALLY, THEN MOST LIKELY YOU NEED TO INSTALL THE ACTIVE X CONTROLLER FOR THIS PROGRAM. THIS WINDOW SHOULD HAVE AN "ACTIVE X" BUTTON TO CLICK AT THE CENTER BOTTOM OF THE WINDOW OR CLICK THE BUTTON CIRCLED (WHICH EVER - SAME THING); AFTER YOU HAVE INSTALLED THIS THEN REFRESH THE INITIAL STEPS ALL OVER AGAIN (STEPS 1-3). HOPEFULLY STEP 4'S WINDOW WILL CLOSE AUTOMATICALLY AND REDIRECT YOU TO THE FINAL STEP 5 FOR YOUR FULFILLING NEEDS.

YET, IF THIS WINDOW STILL STALLS ON YOU AND CONTINUE HAVING TROUBLE, THEN COME BACK HERE AND LEAVE A POST. HOPEFULLY SOMEONE WILL HELP YOU WALK THROUGH THIS OBSTACLE IN MORE DETAIL. I WILL CHECK BACK TO OFFER HELP, BUT I KNOW THERE WILL BE OTHERS WHO CAN REVISE MY INSTRUCTIONS TO RID OF THIS TROUBLESHOOT.
YAHOO~I FOUND OUT A GREAT FEATURE-PRESS "CTRL+N" - WHEN YOU GET STUCK HERE USE THOSE BUTTONS TO BYPASS IT.

YOU MAY ONLY D/L ONE FILE AT A TIME; NO MULTIPLE FILES D/L-ING IS OFFERED UNDER THE FREE USER POLICY. THESE ACCOUNTS ARE SETUP AS SILVER MEDALIST OR GOLD MEDALIST OWNERS. THE SILVER MEDALIST ACCOUNTS' FILES WILL EVENTUALLY EXPIRE IN DUE TIME (USUALLY THE OWNER WILL ANNOUNCE WHEN - SIMILAR TO RAPIDSHARE'S EXPIRING POLICY), BUT THE GOLD MEDALIST ACCOUNTS' FILES WILL NEVER EXPIRE UNLESS THE OWNER DECIDES TO TAKE THOSE LINKS DOWN THEMSELVES.

Carinne thanks for the tutorial. I finally got it to work:) but in the middle of downloading it stops at 20%. i tried pausing it for a minute then resume but it doesn't work, and i don't know what else to do..any suggestions?

in that case, close the Step 5 window, refresh the steps again for that file, DON'T WORRY - THE FILE IS STILL SAVED @ 20% SO YOU WON'T LOSE IT EINTIRELY, to see if the trafficking speed is better now than before.

? some times it will automaticlly go to step 5 and sometimes it will stay on step 4 and i dont see any buttons to click on or anything

if you pulled thru to Step 5, then you are pretty much set... the only reason now for it to stall at Step 4 b/c the server is busy... don't despair, try that link again later.

ok..so here is somthing i wonder.....

if you cant read hangul, then how do you have a residence number???
only ppl in korea have those, and you need it to sigh up....

haha ~ did i claim this clubbox was my very own ? nope.

and i do know some ppl who are not from korea but they have created a clubbox account... those would be called 'hackers.'^^ you really just need the right combination code [social security no. as we call in the US] to crack into their program, and not all residents own a clubbox so the possibilities are infinite.

hi! thanks for the tutorial, but i downloaded the activeX controls but i still can't download anything from clubbox. After i click on the middle button of the popup, it redirects me to a site about downloading the control again. what did i do wrong?

you didn't do anything wrong. if you were able to d/l other clubbox links meanwhile, then this particular one may act up so try to get it another time. but, if you haven't tried d/l-ing other links then something is wrong w/ the setup so delete the old and install anew. you can never go wrong by reinstalling the activeX controls again.

this is normal - just that the server is taking long to retrieve this file... leave it there and you'll see it process w/in the hour... if you have other links to d/l and this file is holding back others from d/l-ing, you can trash this one and reload it at the end of your list to process.

after 4 hours its still stays @ 0%

4 hrs... it never happens to me ! sorry man. hope it worked out in the end.

NEW FEATURE: PRESS "CTRL+N" TO BYPASS STEP 4 WHEN THAT WINDOW STALLS.

I never use clubbox before. In the forum, everytime I try to dwn_ld files from clubbox it ask me to install http://clubbox...ect then it jump to step 3.

The clubbox menu appear and status remain waiting. Then nothing happen so i try to right click dwn_ld or push play. THe status become pause 0%.

I don't see the ACTIVE X nor step 1 & 2. What is ACTIVE X?

arun - 1st of all, is this YOUR clubbox account you are referring to? who's lynhnie? this is a registered member's (Step 5) window shown thru the imageshack.

if you have never d/l the ActiveX Controller (this is an application/program made by Clubbox admins in order for you to transfer files), then you must do so in order for you to see Step 5 occur. this may apply only for Free Users... i'm not certain how Members are setup.

i have no idea what that other window sample means. sometimes link owners restrict file access to MEMBERS ONLY, and not free to all shared. if you have incorrectly tampered with the instructions i have provided initially, then i am no longer helpful. i hope others can further help your inquiry - arun.

THe image is an example of the porblem i have. THe window imageshack show that the status remain at pause 0%. Ignore the registered ID.

How do i dwn_ld? ACTIVE X Controller Someone suggest me registering in clubbox i did that , but still unable to use clubbox. Also i dwn_ld clubbox.exe but i can open it. it say firefox..can not find browser.

What does that mean?

1. How do we install clubbox?

2. Does it cost money to use clubbox?

3. do we need to registered inorder to use clubbox?

4. What happen if the the ACTIVE X controller window does not appear?

1. After verifying your selected items and pressed download. This window will appear (picture below). If you got Clubbox installed the download should appear in the download manager. If not, Click on the "Click" and you will download the setup file.

Note: If you got the program installed and your download doesn't start then right click and change coding settings. Usually from Korean to something else or to Korean.



2. Clubbox is free to use

3. Some clubboxes requires registrations to download from and some not.

4. Hopefully it will appear

i'm beganning to understand clubbox little by little.


This is my struggle.


Everytime i try to download a file, this screen always pop up.

I select download/ play but THE STATUS REMAIN AT 0%. I don't see ACTIVE X CONTROL

one more question how to i get to this setting....

Seem that something has been installed wrongly.

Here is the setup file for clubbox: http://www.clubbox.co.kr/neo.fld/ClubboxSetup.exe

I compared your settings with mine. It seems that we got the same settings.

Try uninstalling clubbox, restart computer, then download a new setup file, install it and try again. Also remember to click on the middle button at the first picture.
