Actor Lee Dong wook named honorary ambassador for Pyeongchang Olympics

Actor Lee Dong-wook, famous for his part in the hit dramatization "Gatekeeper: The Lonely and Great God," has been named a privileged honorary envoy for the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics that commences one month from now.

In a service held in Seoul Friday, Lee joined a large number of other Hallyu stars including actors Lee Min-ho and Kim Woo-canister as the latest goodwill spokesperson for South Korea's first Winter Games. The competition will begin on Feb. 8 for a 17-day keep running in PyeongChang and two other nearby urban areas in Gangwon Province.

The organizing committee said Lee will participate in limited time exercises for the Olympics and the Paralympics in 2018.
